11. People also ask

Is the coming wave worth reading?

Whether you're a tech enthusiast, a policymaker, or someone simply trying to understand where the world is heading, you should read this book.

It won't give you easy answers, but it will help you ask the right questions—and leave you better prepared to ride the coming wave, instead of getting swept away by it.

Book 2

Bill Gates thinks everyone should read his “favorite book on AI,” one that predicts artificial intelligence will change what most jobs look like — across nearly every industry — within the next five years.

The book is called “The Coming Wave: Technology, Power, and the Twenty-first Century’s Greatest Dilemma.”

Published in 2023, it was written by AI pioneer Mustafa Suleyman, who co-founded the research lab DeepMind. He sold it to Google in 2014 and now serves as CEO of Microsoft AI.

Artificial Intelligence - Yorick  Wilks    Read inside on the right.

  1. Less in this book than meets the eye.

  2. The cover includes "Or Dangerous Future?"  Looking under D & F reveals nothing.

  3. Nothing on the Contents page. Text often 0.1cm.

  4. This book is full of minute text often on peculiar colours.

  5. Take page 77 for example. Font size 1 if you are lucky on a light blue background.

  6. P 71 is the same as, indeed, are so many pages.

  7. Page 65: there's text at 1ml.  P 89 etc it's 0.5ml.

  8. P 43 and there's a big batch  of text you'd need a Jodrell Bank telescope to see at 6cm distance. On a blue background. the text explaining the photo is half that size.

  9. P 175 and we see white lines  and text the size of a pinprick.  The title aptly says Deception ...

  10. P 206 has the title The Companion's Life after Death. The next page informs us as to how gruesome AI is going.  Note the relative font size.

  11. ..some people are now allowing their Companion avatars to be questioned by relatives at their funerals.

  12. Thank  the www that I only paid £1.20 via the local library to reserve the book.  Prefer it was in stock.

  13. British computer scientist Professor Yorick Wilks died on 14 April 2023 at the age of 83. source
